We are looking for a CEO for a client in Nigeria with full profit centre responsibility. His direct reporting will be to the Group COO but he will of course be responsible to the Board of the company. The company is looking to go public within the next 2 years so any experience with public markets would be appreciated. As the business is very much market driven and brand building will be required, ideally he should have obtained an engineering degree with a second degree in marketing. Experience in the Fast Moving consumer goods sector (FMCG) is also a must.
Age wise, candidate should be (again ideally) between the ages of forty and fifty.
My client is an affiliate of a Multi National Group with a strong African presence, with a view to list in the next 2 yrs! They established 6 years ago, with the intent to own a number of FMCG businesses in Africa. The culture of the group is one of young professional pioneers, who aggressively seek out entrepreneurial opportunities & look to deliver profitable performances - this requires a “can do” attitude and a problem solving outlook with a determined and a bull dog approach to achieving goals.
Qualification and Experience:
BSc. Engineering and MBA or any relevant Marketing degree or equivalent management related post graduate diploma and proven strong financial acumen is a necessity. Considerable emphasis is placed on Management , in both the fields of Finance, the Engineering environment and Management of an extensive work force.
5 years proven expertise in operational capacity within day to day accountability
The successful incumbent will guide, diversify and ensure the Concern remains at the forefront of global excellence.
This incumbent will serve as a member of the Executive Committee and also support the Group COO in the Concern.
· Meeting all statutory and regulatory requirements
· Develop budgets for research and funding
· Develop strong financial controls
· Report on management related issues to the Governance Committee
The role requires a focus on operational management and ensuring organisational performance plans are met within the agreed budget and time plan; direct management and co-ordination of effective business processes across the Company ensuring that these are regularly reviewed to support the Company’s mission.
