The BATN / BATIA Scholarship Scheme was established in 2004 to encourage the higher educational ambitions of children of BATIA’s registered tobacco farmers.
In 2005, the Scholarship Scheme’s scope was expanded to include eligible students from across the country. This expansion was based on stakeholder expectations raised at a stakeholder dialogue session. Ten eligible students are awarded scholarships every year for the duration of their study.
Instructions
To qualify as eligible, candidates have to be aged 18 or above, be first-year students of Agriculture or Agriculture-related courses in a Nigerian tertiary institution and pass the qualifying assessment tests and interview.
