This is one of the little things you can do with dedication and passion, and have customers begging you with their money. I will be bringing to you clues on how to go about this hot business. It is going to be in two parts.

After going through this first part, I will like you to make your comments below. Your comments will determine if I should go ahead and post the second part or not. No comment, no second part. A deal? Ok; a deal. Wishing you more success ideas!

THE opportunities for making money in fashionable jewelries and beads in Nigeria today
have not even been exhausted and those that are presently in the business are just
scratching the surface. This is because people are really not aware of the money-making
potentials of beads and jewelries, both in the local and the international market.
Almost every woman would like to own precious and valuable jewelries or even very attractive
beads. Beads, apart from being an African thing, have become a hot cake abroad, finding usage
in so many forms today, hence creating a huge market for investors.
If you look at the population of Nigeria of over one hundred and twenty million, more than half
are women. You can imagine the hidden millions begging to be tapped, with the fact that beads
and jewelry can be made into different forms and an individual can purchase a lot of such items
at a time.

What makes fashionable jewelries hot?
Fashionable jewelries constitute one of the most important things that women can use to adorn
themselves. Apart from clothes, shoes etc, the men folk have not been left out. You can talk
about necklaces, earrings, rings, brooches and bracelets etc.
Jewelries are made of either metal that are precious such as gold, silver, actinium etc. These are
very expensive metals. They are also made of brass and copper that are cheap and easy to get.
The other materials that are used in fashionable jewelries are precious stones, which could be
natural, or man-made. Gemstones or precious stones and metals can be combined to make these
jewelries. Others are fossils which are remains of dead animals that have been long in the sea.
Corals and beautiful ornaments obtained from these kind of resources also serve as raw materials
used in making jewelries.
When we talk about fashionable items, we mean something that is in vogue. We are talking
about designs-both local and overseas, those things we see on TV and in magazines like Ovation.
That is what people want to go after. That is what we call fashionable, not outdated designs
which people who don't have the skill do.

Quality and Genuine Jewelry
For you to have a perfect design that will distinguish you from the fake producers of these
jewelries, it is just a matter of using the right material. Those who produce the fake materials
want to sell something that is masqueraded as genuine. Essentially, a fake jewelry is when
something else, instead of the original is used as a coating or when a fake jewelry is
masqueraded as the real thing. But the real thing means using the real material, which we have
here. We have gold, precious stones, silver and we can make brass from copper and other metals.
In fact, in Nigeria we have the resources to produce genuine jewelry.

The Making Process And The Machinery
Different kinds of fashionable jewelries require different production processes. When you talk
about gold necklaces, depending on the design, you may need some sophisticated machines but
they are not as costly as people think they are. From one hundred thousand naira upwards, you
can produce some good jewelries. There are other types of jewelries you don't need machines
for, you can even produce them as you assemble different parts on the wax and get the metal
casting.
With this process of casting, you don't need anything expensive. In fact, the process of melting
the metal is so simplified and cheap. With two thousand to five thousand naira, you can own
your equipment that can melt gold, silver, brass etc. It is not always expensive, you only need the
skill.
The Lost Wax Process On A Small Scale Can Bring In Big Money
The lost wax process is a casting procedure that involves first forming the material (gold or
silver) and packing it in wax, and then leaving the wax in the clay that is wet. By the time you
melt it, the wax will evaporate and the melted metal can now be poured in the space that the wax
was formerly occupying. With that, you get the shape you want. Most times, you don't use a
simple mold that is used for other processes to produce it and that makes it easy to produce any
kind of complicated jewelry on a small scale.

Create 24 Karat Gold Emblems On Cars And Others
Making the twenty-four karat emblem is through an electroplating process that involves adding
very bright shining or reflective surface on the jewelry to increase the market value, durability
and life span of the jewelry.
The process is very simple and not labour intensive. You can also use a gold solution from nickel
or chromium to do it. It is not capital intensive. All the units needed have a cost range from
twenty thousand, fifty to hundred thousand naira.

Start-up Capital and Financial Requirement for Jewelry Biz
If you are the type that does not have much capital, you can talk about casting. This does not cost
much, it does not involve going into designs, because designs deal with using different kinds of
sophisticated machines in the process of finishing. You can also go into simple design, which is
manual polishing, because everything about jewelries, in the final analysis, is the finishing. No
matter the procedure you use, it is possible to have a high finish if you do the right thing and the
machine for polishing is not all that expensive. If you want to do it manually, the materials are
available for you to start small, which means that you will be producing for a small market.
Jewelry production is labour intensive most times. Even if you are involved in small or big scale,
it is still labour intensive. If you go to places like France and Italy, you will see that the best
pieces of jewelries are produced manually. If you cannot mass-produce all aspects of jewelry,
you can decide to produce the pendants only. Pendants are those aspects that you attach to a
chain and are most times removable. Some jewelries can have precious stones attached to them.
An investor can concentrate on producing much of the pendants and some other jewelry
accessories.

We continue with the part 2 next week; but, don't forget to make a comment below.
